Greene made the announcement on Twitter, and while he'll remain as a consulting creative director on PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, he'll be transferring to the company's new division based in Amsterdam.
PUBG Special Projects is "focused on building out an entirely new division to focus on research & game development."

"The past five years of my life has been all about battle royale. From the early days working on a mod to getting the chance to create my vision for a battle royale title, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds," reads Greene's statement.
The new division will be tasked with creating new tech, pipelines, and gameplay, with Greene adding that they will "explore new possibilities of interaction and connection within the game space."
PUBG art director Taeseok Jang will now lead development on PUBG in Greene's place.
The game recently rolled out Horizon Zero Dawn themed weapon skins and outfits on PlayStation 4. Players have until April 5 to unlock them by logging into the game and completing various challenges before the event ends.
